# Gifting Slices

> How to gift a WLTH Slice by email so the recipient can claim it into a new embedded wallet or link to an existing wallet, with tips on delivery and status.

  **Quick answer:** Gifting sends your Slice to a recipient by email. They claim it into a new embedded wallet or their existing wallet. Both parties receive confirmation emails when the transfer completes.

A **Slice** is your digital investment on WLTH. With gifting, you can send that Slice to someone else without them needing to buy in first.

When you gift a Slice:

1. The recipient gets an email with claim instructions.
2. If they don't have a wallet, we create an **embedded wallet** for them.
3. If they already have a wallet, they claim directly into it.
4. You and the recipient both receive confirmation emails when done.

## How to gift a Slice

  <Step title="Open your Portfolio">
    In the [WLTH app](https://app.wlth.xyz), go to **Portfolio** and select the Slice you want to gift.

  <Step title="Start the gift">
    On the Slice details page, click **Gift Investment**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter recipient details">
    Enter the recipient's **email address**. Optionally add your **sender name** for a personal touch.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the transfer">
    Click **Send Gift**. Your wallet prompts you to approve the transaction (standard Web3 confirmation).

  <Step title="Slice delivered">
    After confirmation, the Slice transfers and both parties receive email notifications. The recipient claims into a new embedded wallet or their own wallet.

  Gifting is useful for onboarding friends and family who are new to crypto. The embedded wallet flow removes the need to set up a wallet before receiving their first Slice.
